New North Meridian Health Plaza slated to open Spring 2028
Saint Alphonsus Health System today broke ground on its North Meridian Health Plaza, an 80,000 square foot facility expected to open in Spring 2028 and offer primary care, urgent care, and more to the local community.
“For communities to be healthy, primary care must be easy to reach,” said David McFadyen, President and CEO of Saint Alphonsus Health System. “Care must be close and not months out. And it must be connected to the broader healthcare system. Ensuring access to primary care means bringing care closer to where people live, work and raise their families. In north Meridian, we are meeting our neighbors where they are.”
The groundbreaking in North Meridian, along with the recent opening of its Caldwell Health Plaza and expansion of Saint Alphonsus Medical Center-Nampa, reflects Saint Alphonsus’ effort to provide the Treasure Valley with a comprehensive ecosystem of facilities to bring most families within 15 minutes of primary and specialty care.
The North Meridian Health Plaza will create a major new access point for primary and specialty care in one of the fastest growing parts of the valley. Located at the corner of Highway 16 and Chinden Road on more than 17 acres, the North Meridian Health Plaza will bring high-quality primary, urgent and outpatient care within minutes to families across North Meridian, Star, Eagle, Northwest Boise, and rural growth areas along the Highway 16 corridor.
“This project reflects our Mission-driven commitment to help people thrive where they live, where families grow, and where access makes a meaningful difference in their daily lives,” said McFadyen.
The build will include an approximately 80,000 square foot ambulatory medical office building with primary and specialty care, advanced imaging and more including:
-Family Medicine
-Pediatrics
-Urgent Care
-Cardiology
-Musculoskeletal, Orthopedic Urgent Care
-Surgical specialties
-Women’s services
-Outpatient rehabilitation
-Outpatient lab
-Imaging (X-ray, Mammography, DEXA, Ultrasound) and future space for MRI and CT
Completion is slated for late Spring 2028.
In addition to expanding facilities, Saint Alphonsus continues to ensure Idaho has a trained workforce to care for the region’s growing population.
At the end of June, Saint Alphonsus will welcome the second cohort to its Nampa Family Medicine Residency Program, in partnership with Mountain States Institute for Graduate Medical Education and Research (MSIGMER). Research shows that many students tend to stay and practice close to where they complete their residency.
The health system also continues to collaborate with local universities and colleges including Boise State University, College of Western Idaho, Idaho State University, Grand Canyon University and others to fill the pipeline of high-need roles.
