Saint Alphonsus Health System is a Catholic, non-profit healthcare organization. It serves people in Idaho, eastern Oregon, and northern Nevada. The system includes 4 hospitals, 1 rehabilitation hospital, and nearly 600 beds for patients.

The Saint Alphonsus Health Alliance is part of the system. It is a network of over 3,400 healthcare providers, including doctors and specialists who work both directly for the system and independently.

Together, they offer many types of care. These include brain and nerve care, women’s and children’s health, bone and joint care, cancer treatment, heart care, primary care, surgery, emergency and trauma care, virtual visits, and pediatric services.

Cancer Care

Our Care Center gives you access to advanced tools, like 3D imaging and mobile mammography, to help find cancer as early as possible when it’s easier to treat.

We take a whole-person approach to care, helping both patients and their families live better during treatment. We offer support like genetic counseling and education, nutrition advice, help for children and families through the CLIMB program, rehabilitation services, and therapies such as music, art, yoga, and exercise.

Our expert team uses the latest treatments, including precise radiation therapy. We also give patients access to the largest number of clinical trials in the region. Care navigators are there to guide you through every step of your treatment.

We are Idaho’s only Brachytherapy Center of Excellence. This means we can shorten some radiation treatments for partial breast cancer from six weeks to just five days.

Cardiovascular

Our Heart Institute is dedicated to giving you high-quality heart care when and where you need it, so you can live a full and healthy life. Our heart specialists are highly trained and experienced, allowing them to treat even complex heart problems.

We also make care easier to access by traveling to 13 communities across the region, so you don’t have to go far to take care of your heart.

We combine expert care with advanced technology, including the region’s only Stereotaxis robotic system for treating heart rhythm problems. This helps us offer a wide range of care options so patients can recover faster and feel better sooner.

Emergency & Trauma

In an emergency, getting care quickly is very important. That’s why we offer six easy-to-reach emergency departments in Boise, Eagle, Nampa (two locations), Ontario, and Baker City.

All of our emergency rooms are staffed by board-certified doctors and trained nurses. They are supported by specialists who treat serious conditions like injuries, heart attacks, and strokes.

We are home to the region’s only Level II Trauma Center and a certified center for time-sensitive emergencies like trauma, stroke, and heart attack. This means you can feel confident coming to any of our emergency departments for the care you need.

Neuroscience

We provide advanced care for the brain and nervous system. We were the first in the region to be recognized as an Advanced Primary Stroke Center by The Joint Commission.

Our neurologists and neurosurgeons are highly trained and experienced, so they can treat even complex brain and nerve conditions. Our team works together to give patients the best care possible. This includes specialists such as brain surgeons, imaging experts, vascular surgeons, neurologists, cancer doctors, rehabilitation doctors, and vision specialists.

When someone has a stroke, every second matters. Our team can quickly connect with patients and doctors across the region using telemedicine, helping provide care in many local emergency departments.

We also use advanced technology to diagnose and treat strokes and other conditions. This includes specialized imaging and procedures that help us act fast and improve outcomes.

Orthopedics

Whether you’re recovering from an injury or need surgery, we know how important it is to get the right orthopedic care. If you have pain in your shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, or ankles, our team is here to help. We offer both non-surgical and surgical treatments so you can get care as quickly as possible.

We use advanced technology, like Makoplasty for knee and hip replacements, STAR ankle replacements, and artificial disc replacement for spine injuries. These tools help you recover faster and feel better sooner.

Surgery

We are committed to providing excellent surgical care and have built one of the top surgery programs in the region. Our Level II Trauma Center is a key part of this, always ready to treat serious injuries and provide advanced care within 500 miles.

We have modern surgery rooms designed for different types of care. Our heart surgery rooms are ready at all times for emergencies, and our orthopedic and brain surgery rooms are equipped with the latest technology and imaging tools. We are prepared to handle surgeries 24/7.

We were also the first health system in the region to use the da Vinci Surgical System. This is a robot-assisted tool that allows for smaller incisions, less pain, and faster recovery for patients.

All of our hospitals have skilled surgeons who perform many types of procedures, including weight loss surgery, children’s surgery, bone and joint surgery, breast surgery and reconstruction, heart and lung surgery, and digestive system surgery.
