I was drawn to cardiology early in my medical training becauseI enjoy the long-term relationships with patients and having theability to help people improve and maintain their health. I feelvery honored that I can make a difference in patients' lives. Ienjoy educating patients and utilizing shared decision-makingto enable my patients to make informed decisions about theirhealth. My goal for my patients is to help them feel better andlive longer.

My unexpected heart failure was devastating for my wife and I. When I was admitted to the hospital my ejection fraction was 27% and my survival was in question. A year and a half later, my ejection fraction is a heathy normal 57% on a reference range of 50 to 70. My life expectancy is virtually what it would have been had this never happened. I've been training for and will run a marathon in June. My age is 62. Through out this ordeal, Dr. Hamilton not only healed my heart but nurtured my wife and my spirit. He kept us positive believing that my full recovery was not only possible but expected given I made the lifestyle changes he recommended. During these 18 months, our mental and emotional states were that of hope and gratitude. Were it not for Dr. Hamilton, those months would have been filled with worry and despair. Dr. Hamilton is not just a highly competent cardiologist, he is a remarkably compassionate man who filled our life with light when otherwise it would have been filled with darkness. Words can not express our gratitude.
