About

Philosophy of Care

I chose to be a physician because I knew from an early age that I liked to help people, as I got older I enjoyed the challenge of taking care of people in a serious acute illness. I gravitated to cardiology because of the high pressure demands of treating patients with acute heart problems. The satisfaction of meeting a patient in the hospital who is having a heart attack, restoring flow to their heart and then seeing them get up and walk out in just a couple of days is so amazing. I know through our heart attack team at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center we are helping people lead longer unimpaired lives every day. My goal for my patients is to become their physician and friend, and follow them closely so the years go by without incident and marvel as they get old gracefully!

Dr. Parent was excellent from pre-op, surgery, post op in hospital and post op Re-check after 6 weeks. Dr. Parent was knowledgeable, clear and concise in explaining procedures and follow up, was always attentive to patient questions. My appoint today was with Dr. Parent. He is my husband's cardiologist and as far as I am concerned he saved his life. My husband had a major blocked artery; it is referred to as the widow maker. The artery was 99% blocked. Dr. Parent worked on him for hours trying three different procedures to unblock his artery it was touch and go for a while. My husband is walking around today thanks to Dr. Parent. I would not think of going to any other cardiologist, he is the best!
