Classes and Events
Preparing for a baby can feel overwhelming, especially for first-time parents. Saint Alphonsus offers a variety of childbirth, newborn care, and parenting classes to help you feel confident and informed. Support Services
Saint Alphonsus provides additional maternity support services to help families before and after birth. These services may include breastfeeding support, infant nutrition guidance, parenting education, and other resources designed to support your growing family.
High-Risk Pregnancy Care
If your pregnancy becomes high-risk or your baby is born early, our Maternal-Fetal Medicine team is here to help. These specialists care for women with complicated pregnancies and work closely with patients and their healthcare providers. We also offer genetic counseling to help families understand screening and testing options and make informed decisions about their pregnancy and baby's health.
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Babies who are born too early or have serious health conditions may need specialized care. Saint Alphonsus has two advanced Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) in the Treasure Valley.
- Boise NICU (Level III): Provides the highest level of newborn care available in Idaho and offers 24/7 specialized treatment for premature and critically ill babies.
- Nampa NICU (Level II): Located in the Birkeland Maternity Center and provides specialized care for newborns who need extra medical support.
