A Leader in Advanced Imaging Technology
Saint Alphonsus was the first healthcare provider in the region to:
- Create a 3D Imaging Lab that allows doctors to view detailed 3D images from CT scans, helping them diagnose conditions, screen for disease, and plan surgeries more accurately.
- Install a neuro-interventional biplane angiography suite, which creates detailed 3D images of blood vessel conditions such as aneurysms and arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), helping doctors quickly plan treatment.
- Implement a Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), which allows healthcare providers to securely view digital medical images throughout the medical center and physician offices. .
- Install a 640-slice CT scanner, providing faster scans and more accurate diagnoses.
Advanced MRI Technology
Saint Alphonsus Medical Center in Ontario offers the Altea MR System, an MRI machine designed to provide high-quality images while improving patient comfort.
Features include:
- A larger opening than traditional MRI machines
- A shorter scan tunnel
- A more open design that can help reduce anxiety and claustrophobia
These features help make the MRI experience more comfortable for many patients.
