Monitoring
Description: Failures in patient monitoring are frequently identified as a root cause in preventable harm to patients. Patient outcomes can be improved through early detection of deterioration and through faster response to unexpected emergencies. The objective of this project is to define key characteristics of monitoring system design, evaluate the impact of these characteristics on monitoring quality, and establish minimum standards and recommended interventions to ensure effective patient monitoring.
