Just wish someone would've told me that it was a 2 hour appointment. That was important to me.
Dr. Weiss is always thorough in seeking information and answering questions. He listens and communicates with other providers if needed. He actually sought answers and ordered tests, and I am sure, saved me from having a heart attack. He can be trusted with my medical care and is a caring doctor.
Dr Weiss is excellent and patient with older patients. Some of the problems are age and won't really improve and he is able to talk about it and acknowledge it, and apply what options may be able to help.

Great doctor
A very intelligent, well trained doctor, open (to a certain degree) to new information, such as relevant books. Overworked as many doctors in Idaho are, especially geriatric care, as Idaho has the worst ratio of providers to population of any state, and with Federal government gutting the VA the end of the year, (which has been a primary source of internship opportunities) it is unlikely to improve in the foreseeable future. .
I shared with him a binder with TOC about health history, medications, including from my OD and my own choices to help with long standing cardiac issues, plus a couple of books I believed he might find interesting, related to maintaining good health, and to the overall structure of health care practices and how it might be improved. As I joked with Dr. Weiss, this was our annual "book of the month" club meeting, as I have given him some other books based on clinical research, not statistical epidemiological risk factor studies. I also gave him a greeting card which was sort of an end of the year advocacy for meeting challenges and learning new things, and including a financial remuneration for him directly. We discussed some topics in reasonable depth, like nutrition (and my use of Abbot CGM with a friend to repair his NAFLD issues through various dietary and behavioral modifications) and exercise, and noted my favorite hiking area near Stanley Idaho, in the Sawtooth wilderness area, which he is familiar with. Unfortunately I could have easily had an hour long discussion with Dr. Weiss, but that's not remotely possible- as it is, I think they pushed my appointment out to the last of the day so that if it ran over a bit, it wouldn't impact anyone else.
