Philosophy of Care

My decision to become a physician started with a desire to provide comfort and care by using the many and growing therapies and technologies to help those who are sick and to also prevent illness . In cardiology we have the privilege of the development of advanced technologies in the treatment of the acutely ill. Maintaining health and the prevention of illness is also a great calling and focus through education and counseling and treatment. My goal for my patients is to provide a groundwork for wellness through discovery and treatment. The patients, their families, the staff and I share in some remarkable journeys that sometimes span decades. That is a solemn and precious trust that I treasure.

Dr. Writer is very personable and professional. He showed interest in me as a person, as well as a patient. I appreciated his concern for my welfare as well as of my heart's immediate and long-term care. I'm sad that because he is retiring and I will miss him as my provider greatly!
