Philosophy of Care

As a family medicine physician, my philosophy of care is rooted in building meaningful relationships with my patients and fostering mutual respect. I strive to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care that addresses physical health and promotes overall wellness.

I value maintaining efficient and respectful use of time during appointments and encouraging patients to take an active role in their own wellness. By emphasizing preventive care and shared decision-making, I aim to empower patients with the knowledge and tools they need to make informed choices about their health.

My prior practice has included both inpatient and outpatient family medicine, which has provided me with a broad perspective on patient care. I have had the privilege of caring for patients in the Boise area and am excited to continue serving this community, bringing continuity and familiarity to the care I provide.

I am committed to clear and honest conversations, ensuring that my patients are fully informed and confident in their care decisions.

Dr. McGrath is absolutely wonderful! She's always so quick to respond and incredibly helpful. Her calm and compassionate nature instantly puts me at ease, and she takes the time to explain things in a way that's both clear and educational. I always leave our appointments feeling heard, supported, and uplifted. She truly cares about her patients, and it shows in every interaction. I'm so grateful to have her as my provider!

The care I received was exceptional. They staff makes patients feel comfortable and confident that they are being treated by the best team. she took the time to discuss my concerns and didn't rush through the appointment as sometimes Dr. Shappard had to because his appointments were booked so close together (which I know frustrated him) - I hope it stays this way with Dr. McGrath
