Jackie Schalk, NP

Jackie Schalk NP is a caring professional. Her knowledge of the spine and how it functions amazes me. Jackie showed me my MRI and x-ray's and explained the area of concern. Dr. Joyce and Jackie Schalk collaborated and presented what was found what could be done. I'm a retired RN; however, I am the patient needing the same explanations of any client/patient who decides on having a surgery. A surgery which has the potential of changing my life for the positive or otherwise. Currently, I'm approximately 17 days postop. My life has changed for the better. After I woke up from surgery, I had no pain. Happily, my feet were in a mild sleeping state. Prior to surgery my feet felt liked they were being dipped into boiling oil. I am so blessed. God put me in the right place at the right time. Dr. Joyce and Jackie NP are my angels. These two miracle workers, saw me, heard what I was saying about my abnormal mobility issues., and the tests validated my symptoms. I now walk upright and no longer need to bend over to keep from falling. My love affair with a shopping cart to keep me upright is over. I've not had one episode of my uncontrollable "rubbery legs" when I walk on smooth and sometimes uneven ground. I sometimes test my boundaries, but I've been taught slow and steady wins the race. I'm so impressed by the compassionate care and the healing presence when my medical team walked through the door. I felt so good after surgery, I needed to try out my legs. I met Jackie and Dr. Joyce out in the hall, my legs a little shaky and I had no pain. "A Miracle"! It's evident they have a true vision to help people and provide compassionate care. Jackie Schalk is a walking testament of your institutions Core Values, specifically Safety, Stewardship, Reverence, and Integrity. If there is some type of award Jackie can receive for going above and beyond, it would be my honor to nominate her. Thank you

As usual, my appointment ran like clockwork. I know that sounds like a "canned" statement, but it is the truth. Jackie was interested in my input and allowed me to ask questions. Her answers were prompt and satisfying. I would trust her to the fullest.

She is very efficient and knowledgeable. I appreciate her kind service and the way she responded to my questions. That means so much. Not once did I feel rushed.

Jackie explained the results of the MRI analysis of my brain and the implications of the results very well.

Jackie reminded me that I was only 2 weeks out from major surgery and to let my body rest. She encouraged me helpful suggestions to get through the day.
