Philosophy of Care
I chose medicine and, specifically, Internal Medicine because of what I consider to be a field with unique challenges. Those unique challenges involve the deciphering of broad and, sometimes, nebulous complaints, the extraction of crucial elements from history and exam and then synthesizing a list of diagnostic possibilities and a strategy to arrive at relevant and accurate conclusions, all the while dealing with the diversity of human emotions, fears, and aspirations.
