Philosophy of Care

My favorite part of practicing sleep medicine is helping patients understand why sleep disorders develop and how the available treatments work. When the reasons behind a problem are understood, the reasons for treatment make more sense. When the reasons for treatment make sense, patients are more engaged and more successful in reaching their sleep health goals.

Dr. Dunham spent an ample amount of time explaining all of the procedures and why he felt I should take an extra test to help with a diagnosis of my problem. I was very impressed with him, his patience and willingness to spend all the time needed for me to feel completely comfortable and knowledgeable.

On the [date] visit, I got held up at work and showed up to the appointment about 12 minutes late. They were close to closing for the day, but allowed me to continue with the appointment anyway. They could have had me reschedule but they didn't. Very much appreciated!
