Patrice Burgess, MD

Dr. Patrice Burgess is a family medicine physician who has been in practice for 30 years. She grew up in a military family, attending high school in Mountain Home, Idaho, where her father retired from the military. She went to college and graduate school at the University of Idaho majoring in Zoology, and went to medical school through the WWAMI program at the University of Washington School of Medicine. She then did her family medicine residency training at the Family Medicine Residency of Idaho (FMRI) in Boise. Since then, she has practiced in the military (US Air Force), private practice, as a faculty member at FMRI, and now as part of a multispecialty employed group, Saint Alphonsus Medical Group. Along the way she has held many leadership positions both within her practices and through the Idaho Medical Association and the American Medical Association (AMA). She was the first female president of the Idaho Medical Association and currently serves on the Board as Idaho's Delegate to the AMA and serve on the AMA's Council on Medical Service which helps formulate AMA policies on health care reform.

Philosophy of Care

I feel so privileged to be a family physician. I love caring for the whole family and helping people stay on track with prevention, while also managing health conditions as they occur. I also view my role as a coach and navigator through the healthcare system and health information. I am honored to partner with my patients to help them achieve their goals.
