Who can get meals?
Saint Alphonsus Medical Center — Nampa Meals on Wheels serves people who are:
- Age 60 or older
- Unable to leave home easily
- Unable to drive
- Without regular help at home
How to sign up
Anyone can refer someone to the program. Call the local Area Agency on Aging at 208-332-1745. They will review the request and decide if the person qualifies. If approved, the Meals on Wheels team will start service.
About the program
Meals on Wheels is not an emergency food service. Meals are delivered Monday through Friday, with extra frozen meals for the weekend. Meals are prepared at Saint Alphonsus Medical Center — Nampa.
What's included in a meal?
Each meal usually includes:
- A protein (like meat or beans)
- A vegetable
- A starch (like rice or potatoes)
- Fruit
- Dessert
- Milk and juice
Special diets can be provided if needed.
Delivery times
Meals are delivered between 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. in Nampa and nearby rural areas.
Cost
The program is supported by federal and state funding, Saint Alphonsus, and the community.
- Donations are welcome, but not required
- Suggested donation: $8 per day
