About this event

Adult Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) teaches the skills needed to recognize and respond to signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use challenges among adults as well as how to provide initial support until they are connected with appropriate professional help.

Adult Mental Health First Aid – Online

Join us from the comfort of your home for live, interactive online training facilitated via Microsoft Teams.

The course introduces common mental health challenges for adults and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations. Topics covered include anxiety, depression, psychosis, and addictions

Topics covered include:
•    Common signs and symptoms of mental health challenges
•    Common signs and symptoms of substance use challenges
•    How to interact with a person in crisis
•    How to connect a person with help
•    Expanded content on trauma, substance use and self-care

Format & Location
Location: Online/Virtual
Format:
•    2-hour self paced online course (completed prior to the live training)
•    6-hour instructor led training, facilitated live via Microsoft Teams

Continuing Education Credits:
In support of improving patient care, Trinity Health is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. This activity was planned by and for the healthcare team, and learners will receive 7.00 Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE) credits for learning and change.
