This class helps prepare children, ages 3-8, for changes in the home when the new baby arrives. It helps older siblings understand the needs of the new baby, as well as the demands on mom and dad.
Your child will explore:
How to help mommy and daddy with the new baby
Diapering and holding baby carefully
New and different feelings when a new baby arrives
When will the new baby be able to play with me?
What can I do with a new baby?
What can I do when mommy is feeding baby?
Each child will receive a certificate of completion, and a coupon for a free frozen yogurt.
**This class is only offered every other month**
Parents: Please plan to attend this class with your child. When registering for this class, please complete the registration form with your child's name and other information.
Supplies: Please bring your child's baby picture. Also, bring a stuffed animal or doll so your child can practice learning how to put a diaper on a baby.
Refund Policy: No refunds are given for this class, unless it is canceled by us or you are unable to attend due to the early delivery of your baby. Otherwise, participants may transfer to another class within six months of the original class date.

Directions: Enter the hospital from Curtis Street, and continue straight. Go underneath the sky bridge which connects Saint Alphonsus (Emergency Department) and the Cancer Care Center building. Soon after that on your left is the main lobby entrance of Saint Alphonsus. Parking is free. The class starts in one of the Coughlin Conference rooms, and finishes at the Family Maternity Center.
