Primary Location: Clinic-based practice on campus of SARMC in Boise, Idaho metro area

Availability: 2013 / 2014

Requirements: Completion of ACGME accredited Trauma Fellowship, ABS Certifications in General Surgery & Surgical Critical Care (or obtain such certifications within 3 years of employment), obtain medical license in Idaho and Oregon, current ATLS instructor

Work Schedule: Traditional work week plus call and hospital responsibilities, which may include evenings and weekends.  Typical schedule includes 36 hours per week of ambulatory clinic patient contact time plus hospital consults/rounding and call.

Call: Share equally in trauma/acute care surgery call with other eligible members (presently 5 employed partners) at an ACS verified Level II Trauma Center

EMR/EHR: Inpatient EMR /Order Entry: Cerner PowerChart®; Anticipated 2014 implementation of NextGen® Ambulatory EHR

Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a 270 provider multispecialty group practice that seeks a fellowship trained Trauma Surgeon with an added credential in surgical critical care, who is committed to a multi-disciplinary team approach to patient care and desires to develop a general surgery practice to support a growing multi-specialty medical group.

Requirements include a strong clinical background, completion of a trauma fellowship, ABS certifications in general surgery and surgical critical care and current ATLS instructor. The opportunity also requires Idaho and Oregon licensure and granting of privileges at SARMC and other system hospitals as needed to strengthen the Health System’s trauma surgery program across all the communities we serve. Saint Alphonsus Health System (SAHS) is the regional leader in telemedicine innovation and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to integrate the use of telemedicine into his/her practice to reach and better serve outlying communities.

The trauma surgeons participate in a primary and back-up call panel arrangement. Moreover, SAMG is in the process of implementing the NexGen® electronic health record (EHR) and SARMC has an established Cerner PowerChart® EHR.

About Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center

Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (SARMC) is a 387 bed regional medical center serving people throughout the Northwest and is the principal provider of advanced, innovative and interdisciplinary trauma and critical care services.
