Welcome to the Comprehensive Integrated Inpatient Rehabilitation program at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (SARMC). The Inpatient Rehabilitation Program is designed to help each patient deal with his or her unique challenges. Both patient and family are considered key members of the rehabilitation team.

The Rehab Unit is somewhat different from the Acute Care Hospitalization. In Acute Care, most patient needs are met by nursing. In Rehabilitation, we expect the patient to do as much as possible for himself/herself. The intent of rehabilitation is to help the patient regain as much function as possible so that he/she can return to a more independent lifestyle.

The Comprehensive Rehabilitation Program provides coordinated and integrated medical and rehabilitation services 24 hours per day. The team works closely with the person served to identify and address all medical and rehabilitation needs. It encourages the active participation of each patient throughout the entire program by endorsing active participation in goal setting, therapeutic activities, and discharge planning.

An integrated interdisciplinary team approach and interdisciplinary communication is reflected throughout all activities. Our physician-driven rehabilitation teams work together in a collaborative manner to meet the needs of each patient and family dependent on individual needs.
