Stroke Care Services
The Idaho Neurological Institute stroke care services
provide an aggressive, streamlined team approach to stroke care. The team
consists of emergency room physicians, internists, intensivists, pulmonologists,
neurologists, interventional neuroradiologists, physiatrists, neurosurgeons,
other physician specialties, nurses, physical and occupational therapists,
speech therapists, dietitians and respiratory therapists.
Treatment for stroke is based on the American Stroke Association and the Brain Attack Coalition recommendations. These recommendations focus on minimizing the effects of stroke and the complications of stroke while integrating therapy as early in the recovery process as possible.
Both patient and family participate in therapy planning. Each program is designed to ensure that all necessary support services are provided to maximize rehabilitation and recovery to return the stroke patient to an optimal level of independence.
