Our Nurse Practitioners

Laura L. Asaro, NP, MS.
Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C)
Laurie Asaro comes to Saint Alphonsus Cancer Care Center with a nursing background extending over 23 years. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. Her experience as a registered clinical nurse includes maternal child health, inpatient and outpatient surgery, and orthopedics. She graduated in 2006 with a Master of Science in Nursing degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. She is a member of the Nurse Practitioners of Idaho and the Oncology Nursing Society. Laurie enjoys volunteering at the Garden City Community Clinic.

Esther M. Sears, M.S.
Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C)
Esther Sears, M.S., FNP-C, has been working with the oncology team at Saint Alphonsus Cancer Care Center since April 2005. She came to the center with nine years of experience as a registered nurse in medical, ICU and hospice nursing. Esther received her master of science degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho. She enjoys memberships in Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, Nurse Practitioners of Idaho, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and Oncology Nursing Society. She is currently working on obtaining her certification as an Advanced Oncology Nurse Practitioner.

Holly Swensen, NP, MS.
Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP)
Holly Swensen, APRN, comes to Saint Alphonsus Cancer Care Center from the Saint Alphonsus Inpatient Pain Service. Holly is board certified in pain management and brings this expertise to the Cancer Care Center. She has over 30 years of nursing experience including intensive care, hospice and teaching nursing at the College of Southern Idaho. Holly graduated with honors from her Master of Science in nursing class at Idaho State University in 2001. She is an Idaho native and has practiced at many of the state's hospitals. She is a member of the American Society of Pain Management Nursing, Oncology Nursing Society and has served in many different capacities from volunteer to board member of the American Cancer Society.

Jennifer Suida, M.S.
Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP)
Jennifer Suida has been working with the oncology team at Saint Alphonsus Cancer Care Center since October of 2003. Jennifer received her Master of Science degree as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. Her experience as a clinical nurse included seven years of intensive care nursing in neurosurgery, medicine, trauma and cardiac. She received her bachelor of science in nursing from Arizona State University. Jennifer is a certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and licensed in the state of Idaho. She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, Oncology Nursing Society and Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society. Jennifer is interested in the research and management of bone marrow transplant recipients.
