About the Cancer Care Center

Recognition of Care

The Saint Alphonsus Cancer Care Center holds membership and accreditation in several national organizations that recognize and advocate for quality cancer care. This includes a membership in the Association of Community Cancer Centers (ACCC), a national interdisciplinary organization that promotes the entire continuum of care for cancer patients and their communities.

The Cancer Care Center is also accredited through the American College of Surgeons (ACoS) and the Joint Commission on Accreditation for Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), leading organizations on establishing standards for improvement of cancer care.

The Saint Alphonsus Cancer Care Center was awarded the highest overall rating possible from the American College of Surgeons in February 2009. This places it among the top half of cancer programs surveyed nationwide. Compared to other centers throughout the nation, the Cancer Care Center was noted to be particularly strong in prevention and early detection through an outstanding outreach program, commendable Cancer Registry staff education and outstanding cancer-related improvements implemented each year.
