On the Day of Your Surgery
The day of your surgery should be free of as many concerns as possible, so we encourage you to register at Saint Alphonsus Nampa Health Plaza AmbuCare at least two days prior to the scheduled day of your surgery. When you register, you will receive instructions on how to prepare for your procedure.
On the day of your surgery, you will be escorted to one of the seven private preoperative rooms. A nurse will prepare you for your procedure and answer any questions you may have. Your anesthesiologist will meet with you to discuss any anesthesia and pain management concerns.
The recovery room nurses will continue to assess and monitor your condition after your operation, and family members will join you as soon as possible. Throughout your procedure, your family may relax in the waiting room. There are vending machines located in the Saint Alphonsus Nampa Health Plaza lobby area.
Family members may also be provided with pagers so that they can leave the facility with peace of mind, knowing that they can be contacted immediately. When the procedure is complete, the surgeon will speak with your loved ones. A conference room is available for these communications.
You will be stabilized in the Phase I recovery area. Following this, the nurses will accompany you into the Phase II recovery area so that you may remain with your loved ones other until discharge from the surgery center.
If your child is having surgery at Saint Alphonsus Nampa Health Plaza AmbuCare, you may remain in the preoperative area until he or she is taken to the surgery suite.
