Our women's health care specialists serve the residents of Boise and the surrounding areas of Idaho and eastern Oregon with a complete range of services, including:
Annual exams. Routine gynecological exams should be an important part of every woman's health plan. At each exam, your provider will talk to you about your health and perform any routine tests you may need, such as a Pap test to screen for cervical cancer.
Pregnancy care. Our providers can help you through every stage of your pregnancy, from helping with fertility and conception issues to providing prenatal care and assisting with the safe delivery of your baby.
Reproductive health services. Pregnancy isn't the only time that you'll need reproductive health care. Our providers can help with infertility and conception issues. They also provide a full range of services for women at the end of their reproductive years, including hysterectomy, and advice on hormone replacement options and other ways to ease the transition to menopause.
 Women's health providers in Idaho and eastern Oregon
Saint Alphonsus has several types of women's health providers on staff. No matter which provider you choose, you can be sure you'll receive the highest quality care.
Our women's health providers include:
Obstetricians and gynecologists (OB-GYNs). Our staff of experienced, board-certified OB-GYNs can provide a full range of women's health care services, including annual exams, routine Pap tests, prenatal care and delivery via natural childbirth or cesarean section.
Certified nurse-midwives. Certified nurse-midwives are registered nurses (RNs) with bachelor’s degrees in nursing. Most certified nurse-midwives have master’s degrees in either nursing or midwifery, and some hold doctorates. In Idaho, certified nurse-midwives are licensed by the Board of Nursing both as RNs and as advanced practice nurses. They also hold licenses with the Board of Pharmacy in order to be authorized to write prescriptions. The certified nurse-midwives who deliver at Saint Alphonsus also undergo rigorous credentialing processes with every insurance company that covers our services.
Obstetric hospitalists. These doctors are board-certified obstetricians who are in our Boise medical center 24 hours a day to provide emergency support and care. They can also provide prenatal care for patients who do not have a primary OB-GYN. Saint Alphonsus is the only hospital in Idaho to provide the obstetric hospitalist model of care.
