PROMOTING FAMILY HEALTH
The Saint Alphonsus Nutrition and Breastfeeding Center offers a comprehensive and innovative program of education, support and professional care to help mothers, babies, children and their families grow and develop in good health.
Breastfeeding Support in the Hospital
In the Family Maternity Center and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, our nurses will help you and your baby get started with breastfeeding as soon after delivery as possible, when your baby is ready to feed. Board-certified lactation consultants are available for individual consultations to assess your baby's feeding progress and help you solve any breastfeeding difficulties. Lactation specialists provide this service 7 days a week, including holidays.
Outpatient Breastfeeding Clinic
If you need additional help once you are home, you can make an appointment at the Nutrition and Breastfeeding Center to be seen by an international board-certified lactation consultant. Physicians and other healthcare providers may refer you to the Outpatient Breastfeeding Clinic, or you may contact us at 208-367-7380 to schedule an appointment.
Breast Pump Leasing Program and Breastfeeding Retail Products
The Nutrition and Breastfeeding Center offers a Breast Pump Leasing Program and sells Medela and other top quality retail products that support breastfeeding, such as pumps, nursing bras, nursing pillows, and more.
