Laurie Asaro comes to Saint Alphonsus Cancer Care Center with a nursing background extending over 23 years. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. Her experience as a registered clinical nurse includes maternal child health, inpatient and outpatient surgery, and orthopedics. She graduated in 2006 with a Master of Science in Nursing degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. She is a member of the Nurse Practitioners of Idaho and the Oncology Nursing Society. Laurie enjoys volunteering at the Garden City Community Clinic.

Polina Kokoulina, PA-CPolina Kokoulina, PA-C

Polina Kokoulina, PA-C, MPAS, MS came to the United States from Russia in 2004. She earned both her Bachelor of Science degree and Master of Science degree in Human Biology from Boise State University. She completed her Master of Physician Assistant Studies in 2013 at Idaho State University. She is a member of the Idaho Medical Association, the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Idaho Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Emergency Medicine Physician Assistants. In addition to caring for patients in our gynecologic oncology clinic, Polina also serves an emergency medicine physician assistant with Idaho Emergency Physicians.

Esther Sears, FNP-BCEsther Sears, FNP-BC

Esther Sears, FNP-BC has 9 years of experience as a family nurse practitioner and maintains an advanced certification in oncology. She has a passion for helping patients and their loved ones navigate their cancer experience through education, symptom management and emotional support. In her spare time she enjoys watercolor, quilting and reading.

Holly Swensen, NP, M.S.Holly Swensen, NP, M.S.
Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP)
Holly Swensen, APRN, comes to Saint Alphonsus Cancer Care Center from the Saint Alphonsus Inpatient Pain Service. Holly is board certified in pain management and brings this expertise to the Cancer Care Center. She has over 30 years of nursing experience including intensive care, hospice and teaching nursing at the College of Southern Idaho. Holly graduated with honors from her Master of Science in nursing class at Idaho State University in 2001. She is an Idaho native and has practiced at many of the state's hospitals. She is a member of the American Society of Pain Management Nursing, Oncology Nursing Society and has served in many different capacities from volunteer to board member of the American Cancer Society.
