Neurosurgery welcomes patient referrals for consultation and/or treatment. Neurosurgeons offer diagnostic, consultative and therapeutic services for all neurosurgical problems. The physicians will be pleased to discuss any prospective referrals to guide in the proper selection of a specialist.  Learn more about our Neurosciences department and the services offered.

The department of neurosurgery is structured programmatically, with many programs having a multidisciplinary team approach:

  • Brain injury/trauma
  • Comprehensive brain tumor
  • Epilepsy
  • Movement disorders
  • Neurovascular/stroke
  • Pediatric neurosurgery
  • Peripheral nerve
  • Spine disorders
  • Stereotactic radiosurgery.

This comprehensive, state-of-the-art program encompasses all aspects of intra- and extra-spinal microsurgery from the skull base to the sacrum. Treatment includes cervical, thoracic and lumbar disc removal and decompressive surgery for radiculopathy and myelopathy. A full range of spinal instrumentation procedures is performed for stabilization of degenerative, neoplastic and traumatic etiologies.

Spinal cord tumors, vascular malformations and spasticity are treated in collaboration with specialists in those areas. Special clinical research and interest areas are minimally invasive spinal surgery and treatment of Arnold-Chiari malformation and syringomyelia.
