Requirements: Individual with a doctor of medicine (MD) or a doctor of osteopathy (DO) degree (MD/DO), successful completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited residency training program in Neurology, demonstration of the management of neurological patients in the last 12 months or successful completion of an approved residency or clinical fellowship in the past two years, board certification in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or board certification in Neurology by the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology & Psychiatry or its equivalent (or obtain such certification within 3 years of employment), full license in Idaho and Oregon to practice medicine in all its phases, valid controlled substance registration with Idaho Board of Pharmacy & DEA.
Work Schedule: Typical schedule includes 32 hours per week of ambulatory clinic patient contact time plus hospital consults/ rounding and call. Traditional work week based at the Nampa clinic site, inpatient consults at SAMC – Nampa, plus inpatient call that may include evenings and weekends at SARMC – Boise.
Call: Call shared equally with other eligible members of the SARMC Department of Neurology & Neurosurgery. Incremental compensation provided for weekend call in excess of 1 in 6.

Collaborate with internal medicine and primary care physicians as well as other specialists in the Nampa clinic setting. Support for your practice is bolstered by a full complement of specialists including hospitalists and intensivists. Saint Alphonsus uses a third party telestroke service staffed by vascular neurologists for acute stroke coverage on nights and weekends.
Technology and services available to neurologists include EMG capability in the clinic and the hospital, EEG with web-based interpretation, TCD, botox injection and infusion capability in the clinic, and the opportunity to participate in clinical trials.
The opportunity requires Idaho and Oregon medical licensure and granting of privileges at SAMC-Nampa, SARMC-Boise and other system hospitals as needed.
