Nampa Community Highlights

The Boise Metropolitan Area, also known as the Treasure Valley officially consists of five counties in Southwestern Idaho, anchored by the cities of Boise and Nampa.  With a population of more than 600,000, the region is a commercial center in the Northwest, an outdoor enthusiast's paradise and a flourishing scene for arts and entertainment. The Treasure Valley offers a reasonable cost of living, low crime rate, excellent cultural programs, numerous neighborhood parks and nearby national forests and rivers.

Nampa is located in the center of the Boise Metro Area, just 15 minutes from downtown Boise. Nampa has the Snake River, Lake Lowell and the Owyhee Mountains to the South and the Boise River to the North.  The city sits at an elevation of 2,480 feet, and the high desert climate offers four seasons with mild winters.

Since 2000, Nampa has grown more than any other Idaho city.  Growth rates of approximately 8% over several consecutive years amount to a population of roughly 83,000, making Nampa the 2nd largest city in Idaho.  Less than 20 miles from the Boise Airport, Nampa is located along Interstate 84 and the area boasts excellent transportation corridors in all four directions.

Several high-profile publications rank the area as one of the best places in the country to do business and live.   While Boise is the city named on the lists, rankings really extend beyond the city and apply to all of the Treasure Valley.  Outside Magazine recently said, “The winner for best overall town in the western U.S. is Boise, Idaho.”  Forbes Magazine and the Brookings Institute are also highly complimentary.  CNN-Money recently named Idaho as the friendliest state for small businesses, and Idaho's low cost of living and culture of physician independence make it the best place in America to be a practicing physician for the second straight year.
