The Saint Alphonsus Mobile Health Screening Coach is a 40-foot long mobile unit that travels to numerous sites throughout the region providing the same high quality health screening services that you get from Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho.
The Mobile Health Screening Coach travels to southwestern Idaho, eastern Oregon and northern Nevada and is used primarily to provide screening mammography services. In fact, Saint Alphonsus provided over 3,000 women with mammograms last year. In the southwest Idaho region, only 25 to 35 percent of women who need mammograms are getting this life-saving medical screening. The goal of Saint Alphonsus is to dramatically increase this number by making it more convenient to get this necessary and important breast care screening.
The Mobile Health Screening Coach is a patient-friendly, comfortable, convenient, efficient and technologically sophisticated vehicle designed to bring services to clinics, businesses, schools and community events where such services are not readily available.
Services available on the Mobile Health Screening Coach include:
- Digital Mammography and Clinical Breast Exam
- Bone Density Screening
At Saint Alphonsus, we believe that your primary care physician is important to helping you manage and maintain your health. That is why we refer any results or follow-up procedures back to your doctor in your local community.
If you are interested in getting a mammogram, view the locations we'll be visiting. Grants are available for low-income women who do not have insurance.

Thanks to Our Donors
Gifts from the following supporters enabled Saint Alphonsus to purchase a new, state-of-the-art mobile mammography unit to replace a long-serving vehicle that had logged more than 120,000 back-country miles since the 1990s. Thanks to the generosity of these funders, and the countless donors who support their efforts, the new vehicle will be introduced in early 2012.
