J. Antonio G. López, MD, FACC, FAHA, FNLA
Dr. López received his medical degree Cum Laude from Harvard Medical School. At Harvard, he received the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation Merit Scholar Award. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Cedars- Sinai Medical Center at the University of California, Los Angeles. He was a Research Fellow in the cardiac unit at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He went on to complete a fellowship in cardiovascular disease in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Dr. López is Director of Preventive Cardiology, Cardiovascular Rehabilitation and the LDL Apheresis Program at Saint Alphonsus. Dr. López is formerly Director of the Lipid Clinic at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and the Prairie Heart Institute and the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield, Illinois. Dr. López is also the Chair of Cardiovascular Research and Education at Saint Alphonsus Medical Group Heart Care. He is a Board Certified Clinical Lipidologist (Board of Clinical Lipidology), a Fellow of the National Lipid Association and the Council of Epidemiology and Prevention and the Council of Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology of the American Heart Association. Dr. López is a founding Board member and current President of the Pacific Lipid Association. He has received national recognition for his research on hyperlipidemia and atherosclerosis.
Tisha Fonce, RD, LD
Ms. Fonce is the clinical dietician providing counseling and dietary support. She graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Human Nutrition and Food Science at New Mexico State University. She completed a one-year internship at Idaho State University in Boise. Ms. Fonce is a member of the American Dietetic Association and the National Lipid Association.
