Services
Chemistry, toxicology, and therapeutic drugs: services include routine chemistry, special chemistry, toxicology, therapeutic drug testing, blood gases, and protein electrophoresis.
Bacteriology, mycology, virology, mycobacteriology, and parasitology: services include the detection and identification of pathogenic micro-organisms. Susceptibility testing is performed on significant bacterial isolates. Virology cultures are limited to detection of Herpes.
Hematology, coagulation, and urinalysis: services include complete blood counts, differential smear examination, esoteric hematology tests, coagulation tests, assisting in bone marrow collection by making smears, staining smears, routine urinalysis, and pregnancy testing.
Transfusion service and serology/immunology: services include type and cross match of blood, issuing blood and blood products for transfusion, antibody screening and identification, pooling platelets, order and return of blood products to Lewis & Clark Regional American Red Cross, storage of blood, autologous blood, and blood products. Performs MONO, ANA, and Rapid HIV testing.
Anatomic pathology: services include logging specimens, assigning identification numbers, processing specimens through formalin, paraffin, cutting, placing On slides, cover slipping, and staining. Processing frozen sections and autopsies. |
