Meet Dr. Hirose: Biography

Christopher B. Hirose M.D. is an Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in general orthopaedics and foot and ankle surgery.

imageHis interests include general orthopaedic trauma as well as arthritic conditions, traumatic and athletic injuries, and metabolic diseases involving the ankle and foot.

He completed his undergraduate education at Carleton College, graduating with honors and with distinction in chemistry. Dr. Hirose received his medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School and was awarded a Howard Hughes Medical Institute fellowship for studies in basic immunology at the National Institutes of Health. He completed his internship in General Surgery and residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Washington University Medical School in St. Louis, where he won the Resident Teacher Award.

He is fellowship trained in foot and ankle surgery under Dr. Thomas O. Clanton at The Foundation for Orthopaedic, Athletic and Reconstructive Research in Houston. He won the Fellows Best Presentation Award at the 2004 American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society Summer Meeting.

Dr. Hirose is board certified and is a fellow of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society and the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He was in private practice in Denver prior to joining Dr. Coughlin in Boise.
