Meet Dr. Hirose: Biography
Christopher B. Hirose M.D. is an Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in general Orthopedics and foot and ankle surgery.
His interests include general Orthopedic trauma
as well as arthritic conditions, traumatic and athletic injuries, and metabolic
diseases involving the ankle and foot.
He completed his undergraduate education at Carleton College, graduating with honors and with distinction in chemistry. Dr. Hirose received his medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School and was awarded a Howard Hughes Medical Institute fellowship for studies in basic immunology at the National Institutes of Health. He completed his internship in General Surgery and residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Washington University Medical School in St. Louis, where he won the Resident Teacher Award.
He is fellowship trained in foot and ankle surgery under Dr. Thomas O. Clanton at The Foundation for Orthopedic, Athletic and Reconstructive Research in Houston. He won the Fellows Best Presentation Award at the 2004 American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society Summer Meeting.
Dr. Hirose is board certified and is a fellow of the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society and the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. He was in private practice in Denver prior to joining Dr. Coughlin in Boise.
