Treasure Valley Employers
Providing an on-site flu clinic is an
easy way to ensure your employees get protected against the seasonal flu. Each
influenza vaccination saves employers $47 in absenteeism and productivity loss.*
Please follow the steps listed below to schedule your flu clinic.
We are closely
monitoring the updates from the Center For Disease Control (CDC) on the H1N1
or swine flu vaccination progress. However, at this time, this is not available
through our on-site vaccination clinics. The information below is only for
the seasonal influenza vaccine.

You have an option for your seasonal flu vaccine this year
The Saint Alphonsus Corporate Health
nurses will have two options for your seasonal flu vaccine this year. Please
review the information below to determine which method of vaccination you prefer.
We will have the standard vaccine, referred to as the “flu shot.” We will also the intranasal vaccine referred to as the “FluMist.” Here are the standard FAQs to help you decide. Please note there are two different consent forms this year.
Q: What is the cost?
A: Both shots will cost $20.00
at the onsite clinics, payment and insurance are the same.
Q: Who is eligible
for the FluMist?
A: Individual under the age of 49. There is no age restriction
for the flu shot.
Q: Who cannot get the FluMist?
A: Adults over 50, pregnant
and breast feeding women, and people with long-term health problems – heart
disease, lung disease, asthma, kidney or liver disease, diabetes, anemia or
other blood disorders, or anyone with a weakened immune system or history of
nerve problems.
Q: The FluMist is a live virus,
won’t it make me sick?
A: The FluMist is made with a live, but very weakened virus. You will not get
the flu from the FluMist, but you may have a mild immune response where you
might feel achy and have mild side effects for a day or two. The Vaccine Information
Sheet has more details.
Q: Does the FluMist contain thimerosal?
A: No, the
intranasal, FluMist does not contain thimerosal or other preservatives, so
it is a good option for people with thimerosal-allergies.
