Travis grew up in Boise, Idaho where he graduated from Borah High School in 1996. From there he attended the University of Utah where he received degrees in Biology and Chemistry. He then attended medical school at New York Medical College where he graduated with honors including election into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He went on to complete a Five-year residency in orthopaedic surgery at New York Medical College. He completed his fellowship in Boise, Idaho under the direction of Dr. Michael J. Coughlin. He was Dr. Coughlin’s partner for 3 years and is now in private practice in Boise.
His clinical interests include complex lower extremity deformities and the use of external fixation for gradual correction of those deformities. He has undergone training in the use of the Taylor Spatial Frame, as well as multiple other external fixation systems.
He is an avid outdoorsman and participates in mountain biking, road cycling, downhill snow skiing, and hiking. Other interests include how technology and social networking can positively affect the practice of orthopaedic surgery and medicine.
