Pink Glove Dance Voting begins - Saint Alphonsus Health System Associates spread Breast Cancer Awareness message
Start Date

Pink Glove DanceBOISE, ID. (October 15, 2012)  Voting is underway for the 2012 Pink Glove Dance competition. More than two hundred Saint Alphonsus Health System Associates from Baker City, Oregon, Ontario, Oregon, Nampa and Boise, Idaho took part in the inspirational pink glove dance video to help spread the word about breast cancer awareness and prevention. The video was submitted to a national competition to determine the best Pink Glove Dance video of 2012. The second year of the competition is sponsored by Medline Industries, Inc., the manufacturer of the gloves and producer of the original Pink Glove Dance video.

As part of the Pink Glove Dance 2012 competition the Saint Alphonsus Health System video was posted on along with videos of the other 260 participants to be viewed by the public. Viewers can vote on their favorite video (voting requires a Facebook® account). If Saint Alphonsus Health System wins the competition, winning proceeds of $10,000 will go to benefit the Angel Care Network Foundation, an organization that supports Breast Cancer patients.

“Once we saw the original video and all the videos from last year’s competition, we immediately wanted to get involved to help make a difference at our facility, in our community and even around the country,” said Communications Director Kristen Micheletti. “Our staff were so excited and inspired to be part of our own Pink Glove Dance. It was not only a lot of fun to participate, but the awareness and discussion about breast cancer – and stressing the message to schedule regular mammograms – created by the video is the real satisfaction we’ve taken away from this experience.”
