Emergency Services

Saint Alphonsus Medical Center — Baker City’s Emergency Department is staffed by nurses and physicians 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We are part of the Oregon Trauma System and are designated a level 4 trauma center. This requires us to be prepared to immediately stabilize and treat trauma patients and to arrange transport to higher level trauma centers when appropriate.

All of our professional staff members are trained in trauma care, advanced cardiac life support and care of the wide variety of patients who arrive in our Emergency Department. We have three beds designated for acute or critical illness and three rooms for care of less acute illness.
