The Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center Cardiovascular Rehabilitation Program is certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). This certification means that Saint Alphonsus has been recognized for its commitment to improving the quality of life by enhancing standards of care.
Cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation programs are designed to help people with cardiovascular conditions (e.g. heart attacks, coronary artery bypass graft surgery, etc.) and pulmonary conditions (e.g. chronic obstructive pulmonary disease – COPD, respiratory symptoms, etc.) recover faster and improve their quality of life. Both programs include exercise, education, counseling and support for patients and their families.
"Cardiovascular rehabilitation is shown to be a key differentiator in patient's recovery, quality of life and overall health. The recognition by the AACVPR shows the high level of care offered by the staff and caregivers. As the medical director of the program I am proud of the work of the team," J. Antonio Lopez, MD, FACC, Medical Director, Saint Alphonsus Cardiovascular Rehabilitation.
