Birthing Center

Celebrate your baby’s birth in the homelike setting of Saint Alphonsus Nampa Family Birthing Center (FBC) under the experienced care of your own dedicated nurse and physician. The FBC offers a quiet, relaxing atmosphere that your whole family can enjoy. Members of your support team, including your other children, are welcome to be with you in your room or in the family area throughout your birthing experience.

Choose from four beautifully furnished birthing rooms, all equipped for your comfort and safety. You may use a Jacuzzi tub, birthing ball, birthing pool, music, massage, walking, or other labor coping tools as you desire. Your personal nurse will remain with you throughout your stay to help you through labor, birth and the early parenting experience. Your baby will stay right with you while your nurse assists and teaches you about feeding and other mother-infant care. Hospital backup at Saint Alphonsus Medical Center — Nampa is available just across the street, if needed.

You may stay at the FBC for up to eight hours after your baby is born. After that, you’ll return to the comforts for a restful recovery. You will still have access to your nurse’s expertise by phone, and you can call with questions at any time.

When your baby is three days old, your personal nurse will welcome you and your baby back to the FBC for a follow-up evaluation. The nurse will assess your health your baby’s and address any concerns or problems you have. Your baby’s newborn screening tests and hearing screening can also be done at this time.

When you choose to celebrate your baby’s birth at Saint Alphonsus Nampa Family Birthing Center, you’ll be able to do it your way! To learn more about having your baby your way, call today to schedule a personalized tour at 208-463-5940.
