Cancer Care Center

The Saint Alphonsus Cancer Care Center has developed an integrative approach to healing. Under the direction of Dr. A. Scott Pierson, this beautiful new center will integrate state-of-the art techniques to diagnose and treat cancer including advanced imaging, chemotherapy, and access to clinical trials. We then add genetic counseling and complementary therapies proven to aid in healing such as nutrition, exercise, art, and music therapies as well as patient navigators to guide patients through their care.

The expansion of the Cancer Care Center includes three exam rooms and five infusion bays that overlook the hospital’s healing garden.

In April 2011, Saint Alphonsus Medical Center — Nampa celebrated the opening of its Comprehensive Breast Care Center at the Nampa Health Plaza. Services there include digital mammography, breast biopsy, bone density testing, and on-site radiology. With the addition of the Cancer Care Center to Nampa, Saint Alphonsus now offeres complete care for breast cancer patients from diagnosis to surgery to treatment.

Cancer Care Center Director: Scott Pierson, MD
Saint Alphonsus Nampa is proud to welcome a new oncologist, Scott Pierson, MD, to direct the Cancer Care Center. Dr. Pierson is a board-certified medical oncologist and hematologist. He attended Princeton University as an undergraduate, where he majored in political science. He then attended Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and graduated magna cum laude. Dr. Pierson has particular interests in the treatment of breast, lung, and gastrointestinal cancers.
